Benelli M4 Trigger Guard – Billet Aluminum Upgrade
Upgrade your Benelli M4 with this precision-machined billet aluminum trigger guard from Shell Tactical. A direct drop-in replacement for the stock polymer or aluminum OEM trigger guard, it offers a significant upgrade in durability, feel, and functionality. As a 922(r) compliant part, it's a smart choice for any Benelli M4 build or compliance configuration. Note: External Snap Ring Pliers are recommended for installation.
Key Features
The Shell Tactical trigger guard includes an integrated shell guide ramp engineered for both double and quad loading techniques. The enlarged loading area effectively doubles your shell-loading efficiency, making two-at-a-time loading faster and more reliable — while also improving ease of single loading. It is frequently paired with a Benelli M4 upgraded safety during trigger disassembly and reassembly.
Made in the USA – 922(r) Compliant
Designed and manufactured in America, this trigger guard is a qualifying 922(r) compliant component for your Benelli M4 build. Note: they are not stamped and it isn't necessary for them to be stamped to count as a USA made part.
Premium Billet Aluminum Construction
Precision CNC machined from billet aluminum with tight tolerances, making it an ideal foundation for superior trigger jobs. The aluminum construction delivers a noticeably more premium look and feel compared to the factory plastic trigger guard, with improved rigidity and longevity.
Hard-Anodized Matte Black Finish
Finished in a matte black hard-anodize coating, providing superior hardness and corrosion resistance over the OEM polymer guard. Every unit is fully dehorned and deburred before coating to ensure smooth handling and shooter safety.
Available Colors
- Black: Hard matte black anodized finish.
- H2O: NP3 plated for improved lubricity and corrosion resistance.
Specifications
Dimensions: L: 5" | W: 0.9" | H: 2"

I put this in a Mac 1014 for a 922r compliant part. Went in with no problem. Fit and finish are excellent. Great upgrade from the original trigger guard.
Fit like a glove. Really appreciate the relief cut above the safety detent spring; made installation much easier, driving the pin in halfway over the spring and then catching the spring on the pin and driving it home. Total process took maybe 20 minutes? Anyways, another stellar part from Shell Tactical! <3
The fitment was perfect. The safety detent was a little tight out of the box, but after clearing it up with a bit of polishing compound and a cue tip, it is now smooth as butter. Highly recommend this aluminum trigger guard upgrade for the Benelli M4.
Hi Patrick, thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We did discover that a small number of trigger guards from that specific batch had holes that were a few thousandths of an inch too narrow. We have since corrected this issue for all current and future inventory. If you need a replacement or any assistance getting it sorted, please reach out to Shelltactical@gmail.com.
Really like the design and the fact that it is metal and not factory plastic. My only complaint is the finish. It is a rougher anodized finish and caused some trouble during the install. Most with the safety detent, mine got stuck even with grease and I wound up having to drill it out and replace it for proper function. My advise is if you buy this is to open up the safety detent hole just a touch before reassembly. Other than that it is a great upgrade and just replace the lifter while you’re at it.
Thank you for the detailed feedback and for highlighting the design upgrade from the factory plastic! You are spot on about the safety detent hole. We discovered a small batch had holes that were just a few thousandths of an inch too narrow due to the thickness of the anodizing. We have since dialed in our machining specs to completely resolve this issue for all current and future inventory. We appreciate your resourcefulness in getting it installed, but we'd love to drop a credit for the trouble with the detent.
