The Shell Tactical Benelli M4 7-Round Magazine Tube is a full replacement for both the OEM 5-round tube and the 2-round limiter — removing them entirely and replacing the whole assembly with a single, full-length tube. The result is 7+1 capacity, a cleaner profile, and depending on material, a significant reduction in muzzle weight.

This is the complete solution. Where the 2-round extension screws onto your existing tube, this tube replaces everything from the receiver forward. It's a more involved installation, but the end product is more polished, lighter (in titanium), and the approach preferred by serious builders.

Titanium or steel — which is right for you:

The titanium tube is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade titanium alloy and Cerakoted in the USA. At 4.9 oz (139g), it reduces muzzle weight by 5.3 oz (151g) compared to the OEM 5-round tube and limiter combined — nearly half the weight of the steel version. Virtually rust and corrosion-proof. This is the choice for shooters who want the lightest, best-handling M4 possible. It counts as a 922(r) compliant part, but does not have an engraving like the steel tube has.

The steel tube is machined from hardened chromoly steel, CNC machined and Cerakoted in the USA from domestic steel. Engraved "MADE IN USA" in large letters. At 9.0 oz (256g), it still reduces weight by 1.2 oz (33g) over the OEM assembly. Counts as a 922r compliance part. The right choice if you want domestic steel construction or need a 922r part at a lower price point than titanium.

Installation (PDF instructions):

This installation requires heat to break the factory thread locker on the OEM tube. Plan 30–60 minutes and read through the full process before starting.

1. Clear and safe the firearm. Remove all rounds from the chamber, loading gate, tube, and work area.
2. Remove: magazine cap, barrel, foregrips, retaining ring, magazine spring, follower, bolt carrier group, and trigger assembly.
3. Place the receiver in a padded vise. Using a heat gun, heat the OEM magazine tube until the thread locker begins to smoke. Heat the tube, not the receiver.
4. Using heat-resistant gloves, unscrew and remove the OEM tube.
5. Thread on the new 7-round tube and apply 1–2 drops of high-strength all-metal thread locker.
6. Reassemble in reverse order.

Recommended upgrade: The Wolff Magazine Spring is strongly recommended when running extended capacity. The OEM Spring is adequate when new but tends to take a set with use, leading to cycling issues. The Wolff Spring has increased power and has a shorter solid length — the better choice for any extended tube setup.
