The Wolff Benelli M4 Magazine Spring:

The Benelli M4 Wolff Spring is custom designed and manufactured to our specifications specifically for use with 7-round capacity magazine tubes such as the Benelli M4 extension tubes. The purpose of these increased power magazine springs is to improve the reliability of your shotgun, while also increasing room in the magazine tube compared to the OEM spring.

Note: these springs will also work in 5-round magazine tubes but may be difficult to install due to the increased power.

Difference between the Wolff Springs vs the Shell Springs

Both magazine springs are made to the same specifications. The only difference is the Wolff Spring is made by Wolff Gunsprings, while the Shell Spring is made by Shell Tactical.

Reliability of the Wolff Magazine Spring

The OEM Spring that comes factory with your Benelli M4 works well when new but tends to take a set quickly and becomes underpowered. The Wolff magazine springs are designed to be slightly overpowered when new, but just right once they take a set.

Factory Benelli M4 Magazine Spring Problems:

Underpowered springs don’t eject the shell far enough into the loading gate from the magazine tube, and can cause failure to feed. This is especially true with lighter loads and 3” shells. The problem occurs when shell isn’t ejected far enough, and the tip of the shell makes contact with the receiver to where the loading gate gets jammed.

If you are using your Benelli M4 for home defense or any other high stakes situation, is highly recommended to upgrade your magazine spring. Test the factory spring at the range, and if it works fine, there is no need to upgrade to the Wolff spring.

More Space in Your Magazine Tube: 

The solid length (length of spring when fully compressed) of the Wolff magazine spring is slightly less than the OEM spring. It has less coils and a larger gap between coils. This may help with getting that 7^th round to fit when using longer crimped shells (defensive loads tend to be slightly longer than target loads).
 
The Benelli M4 Wolff Spring has a solid length of around 2.01”, while the OEM Benelli M4 magazine spring has a solid length of around 2.11”, adding about 1/10th of an inch more room. For an extra 1/8th inch of room, check out our Benelli M4 Max Room Follower.
