Benelli M4 5-Round Magazine Tube – Titanium

Most Benelli M4 owners are looking to add capacity. The 5-round tube exists for the opposite situation — and it serves two specific buyers well.

The first is the SBS owner. Short-barreled Benelli M4 builds require a shorter magazine tube to match the shortened barrel profile. The OEM tube doesn't fit, and a full-length 7-round tube overhangs. The Shell Tactical 5-round titanium tube is dimensionally matched to work with SBS configurations where tube length matters.

The second is the standard M4 owner who wants a lightweight, premium replacement for their OEM tube — without committing to a single capacity. Unlike the 7-round tube, the 5-round tube is convertible: run it at 5+1 with a limiter installed, or thread on a 2-round magazine extension to reach 7+1 whenever you want. One tube, two configurations, no heat gun required to switch between them.

If you're looking to permanently replace your OEM tube with a full-length 7-round setup, see the Benelli M4 7-Round Magazine Tube instead.

Why titanium:

The Shell Tactical 5-round tube is precision CNC machined from aircraft-grade titanium alloy and Cerakoted in the USA. Titanium is significantly lighter than the OEM steel tube it replaces, virtually rust and corrosion-proof, and stronger than steel at equivalent weight. For SBS builds where balance and weight are critical, or for any owner who wants the best possible replacement tube, titanium is the right material.

The convertible advantage:

The 5-round tube is the most flexible magazine tube option for a standard M4. Your options with this tube installed:

  • 5+1 capacity — install a mag limiter and run it at the factory configuration. Useful for range days, training, or compliance requirements.
  • 7+1 capacity — thread on the Benelli M4 2-Round Magazine Extension and remove the limiter. No tools, no heat gun, no permanent modifications. Switch back whenever needed.

This flexibility is not available with the 7-round tube, which is a fixed full-length replacement.

Specifications:

  • Capacity: 5 rounds of 2¾" shells (7+1 with 2-round extension added)
  • Material: aircraft-grade titanium alloy, Cerakoted in the USA
  • Compatible with: Original Benelli M4 / M1014 and SBS configurations

Colors:

  • Black: custom dark gray Cerakote — can be deepened with a light coat of gun oil
  • H2O: custom titanium-colored Cerakote to closely match the Benelli M4 H2O / Titanium Cerakote finish
  • FDE: flat dark earth Cerakote to match OEM FDE Benelli M4s
  • Uncoated: raw titanium finish

922r compliance: The titanium tube counts as a 922r compliant part when installed on a Benelli M4. It is machined in the USA from imported titanium alloy. Confirm with your gunsmith if documentation is required for your specific build.

Installation (PDF instructions):

This installation requires heat to break the factory thread locker on the OEM tube. Plan 30–60 minutes and read the full process before starting.

  1. Clear and safe the firearm. Remove all rounds from the chamber, loading gate, tube, and work area.
  2. Remove: magazine cap, barrel, foregrips, retaining ring, magazine spring, follower, bolt carrier group, and trigger assembly.
  3. Place the receiver in a padded vise. Using a heat gun, heat the OEM magazine tube until the thread locker begins to smoke. Heat the tube, not the receiver.
  4. Using heat-resistant gloves, unscrew and remove the OEM tube.
  5. Thread on the new tube and apply 1–2 drops of high-strength all-metal thread locker.
  6. Reassemble in reverse order.

Note: No magazine tubes over 5 rounds ship to NJ or MA. Residents of NJ and MA: this is the correct tube for your state — run it with a limiter at legal capacity.
