Benelli M4 6-Position Recoil Tube Overview
This aftermarket 6-Position Recoil Tube is designed as a direct-fit upgrade for Benelli M4/M1014 models, replacing worn-out three-position OEM recoil tubes (Part# 70130 & 70043) or the single-position recoil tubes found on the limited-edition civilian M1014. Unlike the factory OEM tube, this version adds six adjustable length-of-pull positions spaced 0.75" apart, giving shooters significantly more control over stock fit than the stock three-position design.
Recoil Tube Positions
The 6-position recoil tube offers six length-of-pull settings, each spaced about 0.75" apart, plus a take-down notch for stock removal. The positions are marked with an indicator line and engraved number for quick adjustments. LOP is measured from the center of the trigger to the center of the stock:
- Position 1: 9.25" LOP. Fully Collapsed. For compact transport and storage.
- Position 2: 11.25" LOP. Shortened length of pull for close-quarters use.
- Position 3: 12" LOP. Intermediate setting, useful with body armor or added gear.
- Position 4: 12.75" LOP. Intermediate setting for a range of body types and stances.
- Position 5: 13.5" LOP. Near-full extension for most standard shooting.
- Position 6: 14.25" LOP. Fully Extended. Maximum length of pull.
- Take-Down Notch "OFF": Between positions 5 and 6. For removing the collapsible stock.
For comparison, the OEM 3-position recoil tube has a fully collapsed position (9.25" LOP), mid position (12.25" LOP), and fully extended position (14.25" LOP). The OEM 1-position recoil tube is fixed in the 14.25" LOP position.
Material and Finish
Crafted from high-quality steel with a durable black nitride finish, this recoil tube is built to withstand heavy use while resisting wear and corrosion. The retaining ring comes pre-installed, so it's ready to go right out of the box.
Compatibility
This will only work on the Benelli M4 and M1014. It is not compatible with the Benelli M4 EXT collapsible stock. It is not compatible with clones.
Installing the Recoil Tube
To install the new recoil tube, heat the thread locker to remove the old recoil tube and nut. All internal parts from the old recoil tube can be reused with the new one. The 6-position recoil tube does not come with internals besides the retaining ring. Detailed installation instructions are available in the accompanying (PDF).
Why Won't My M1014 Collapsible Stock Collapse?
The civilian limited-edition M1014 model features a "collapsible stock" mounted on a single-position recoil tube. The M1014 can be identified by the American flag engraving on its receiver. Many customers are surprised to find that their collapsible stock does not collapse. This is because the civilian M1014 is equipped with a single-position recoil tube that is fixed in the fully extended position. Benelli implemented this non-collapsible feature to comply with 922r regulations when shipping to America. This aftermarket tube resolves that limitation by restoring full stock adjustability. Make sure to adhere to 922r compliance laws before installing a collapsible stock.
