Benelli M4 Bolt Release Pad – GG&G Tac Pad
The factory bolt release button on the Benelli M4 is undersized — functional enough, but a liability under stress. The GG&G Tac Pad replaces the entire shell catch lever with a pre-drilled and tapped unit topped by a knurled aluminum pad, giving you a permanently enlarged, non-rotating bolt release that stays in place through disassembly, hard use, and anything else you put the gun through.
This is the permanent solution. Where a bolt release tab clips over the factory button and reinstalls with the gun, the Tac Pad becomes part of the gun. Once it's in, it's in.
Why the GG&G Tac Pad:
- Replaces the factory lever entirely — the shell catch lever is swapped out for a pre-drilled and tapped unit. The knurled pad threads directly into it, with no rotation or movement under use.
- Knurled aluminum pad — CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, Type III hard-coat anodized in a non-reflective Mil-Spec black finish. Measures 1¼" × ⅝" — large enough to hit with confidence under stress or with gloves.
- No-rotate design — engineered to stay locked in position, unlike pads that spin on the button.
- Permanent installation — requires basic tools and a roll pin punch. Once installed, no reinstallation is needed during routine disassembly.
- Complete kit — includes the modified carrier latch, pad, hardware, and instructions. Everything needed for installation is in the box.
- Deburred and shooter-safe — all edges rounded for safe handling during operation.
- Made in the USA — manufactured by GG&G in Tucson, Arizona. Backed by a lifetime warranty.
Pad vs. Tab — which is right for you?
If you want a quick, tool-free upgrade that installs and removes with the gun, the Shell Tactical Bolt Release Tab is the right call. If you want a permanent, set-it-and-forget-it solution that becomes part of the firearm, the GG&G Tac Pad is worth the extra steps.
Installation note: Installation requires removal of the factory carrier latch and roll pin. A roll pin punch is needed. Not a drop-in install — plan 20–30 minutes if you haven't done it before.
